Vol 2 : The Ventnor and Bembridge Lines

As well as featuring the Ventnor and Bembridge Lines, Volume Two of Southern Rails on the Isle of Wight has detailed studies of the locomotives and rolling stock which operated on the Island. There are also sections which reflect the present scene, including the electrification of the Ryde to Shanklin Line, and the advent of Island Line. Finally it tells the story of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and how a group of dedicated enthusiasts have brought a former section of the Isle of Wight Central, including original locomotives and rolling stock, back to life.

With 10% more pages than Volume One and over 40% more photographs, nearly half in colour, Volume Two aims to set an even higher bench-mark for quality railway histories. As before there are maps, plans and other ephemera, all set out in an eye-catching format.
