The motive power for the early waggonways was provided by horses which neede stabling, veterinary care and plenty to eat and drink. The later steam locomotives required similar care and attention. This subject has been given scant previous attention but this book now looks at the facilities provided by the railway companies to supply locomotives with fuel and water. It also covers turntables.
