Deltics Over The Pennines

This latest book features the Class 55 Deltics on cross Pennine workings. In mid-1979 the Class began to be used on services to Liverpool. Twenty of the fleet subsequently operated the service, we feature all of them.

In addition we show other services that crossed the Pennines such as the York - Shrewsbury mail which took Deltics to Stockport. Workings over the Tyne Valley Route the most northerly Pennine crossing, BR tours and a selection of photographs featuring preserved Deltics on tours and service trains. We round off with a list of all known workings on the Liverpool services.
