An illustrated history of British Railways covered hopper wagons Volume 2. Part 1: Gravity discharge hoppers

This is the first part of Volume 2, looking at the many types of wagon which discharged their loads by gravity.
It has considerable detail about the types of traffic for which these wagons were designed and traffic flows where these wagons were used. As with his previous books, the drawings are based on measurements taken of actual wagons when they were in service.
The earlier book (Volume 1) which describes open hopper wagons, combined with Part 1 & 2 of Volume 2, provides a complete record of hopper wagons operated by British Railways and the private operators active at the time.
To aid modellers, all the books in this Series have a special binding so they can be easily laid flat.
