Today Harrogate has a simple local train service to Leeds or York, but at one time the town was a hub for far more services.Passengers could travel north via Ripon and Northallerton, on two routes to Leeds and to York, Bradford, Pateley Bridge, Thirsk, Boroughbridge and Pilmoor. There was also a large marshalling yard, goods warehouse and locomotive depot at Starbeck. This book tells how all these lines came to be built, operated and closed. It also tells the story of the people who worked and travelled on the railways of Harrogate. Now out of print we have 2 copies left.
